Welcome home—a place where horses heal people, and people heal horses.

At Shedrow Farm,

we stand as the line between tragic endings and triumphant second chances. Located in Millstadt, Illinois—just minutes from Downtown St. Louis—we step in where hope has failed. From the grueling demands of the race track and the horrors of neglect, to the dark reality of slaughter-bound kill pens, we rescue horses from the brink and fight fiercely for their future. Whether restoring their spirit, or granting them a peaceful, dignified retirement, our non-profit sanctuary gives these noble animals the second chance they so deeply deserve. Beyond our pastures, we extend our hands to the St. Louis area and surrounding communities—inviting neighbors, volunteers, and families to experience the transformative power, connection, and mutual healing that happens when people and horses unite.

“It began with Sir Anthony.”
When Sir Anthony suffered a broken knee on the race track, his future was on the line. Saving his life wasn’t just a rescue—it was the catalyst that built Shedrow Farm and Therapy. Sir Anthony showed us the incredible power of resilience, proving that every horse, no matter their injuries or past, deserves a second chance to heal and be loved.

Behind every horse that steps onto our sanctuary grounds is a story of survival—and a future full of hope. We believe in the quiet magic that happens when humans and horses heal each other. Through compassionate rehabilitation and dedicated stewardship, we help forgotten horses rediscover their trust and spirit. Join our community and be a part of their journey.
